infiorata noto

Every year the third sunday of May is dedicated to the infiorata event of the city of Noto. The event was born thirty-seven year ago by the encounter of Genzanesi and Netini flower artists and it is precisely in the city of Genzano, in the province of Rome, that this new pictoral technique is developed. Via Corrado Nicolaci is the street where the infiorata is born, the impact is strong; at the top of the street there is the Church of Montevergini which contrasts with the palace of Prince Nicolaci “Villa Gilda”, with the balconies that have been defined by many the most beautiful of the world. Today the infiorata of Noto is considered among the most beautiful manifestations of the whole island.

Vendicari Nature Reserve

The Vendicari Nature Reserve was foreseen by a law of the Sicily Region in 1981, but was officially established in 1984, after numerous struggles of environmental associations and numerous bureaucratic steps. However, the history of the reserve has much older origins. There are several archaeological and architectural testimonies of the settlement of man since the Greek era.
